App Expired on September 1st?

The renewal period for Lexicomp changed this year. The expiry date used to be September 1st but has now been changed to April 1st. Some users may not have manually added the new code back in April which is why their access has expired now. To renew your access, follow this tutorial or the instructions below. It will then be necessary to renew again by April 1, 2022 to extend your access for another 12 months. Contact us if you need help.

Note: Contact the Library (not the IT Department) if you experience technical issues with any of the licensed mobile apps. If the issue is unresolvable, we can put you in contact with the vendor and their support team.

Installing the Lexicomp App

Note: App needs to be renewed by April 1st every year (formerly September 1st):

  1. Go to Lexicomp (must be using this link on the library website).
  2. Scroll down to the blue MOBILE ACCESS CODES icon and select it.
  3. Select your platform and then select 'Existing (already have the app)'.
  4. The AUTHORIZATION CODE appears in red. You need this.
  5. Log in to your account at http://www.lexi.com/account/. If you currently use a personal email for your account then you will need to update it as Lexicomp now only accepts the following email domains: @saskhealthauthority.ca; @usask.ca; @mail.usask.ca; saskcancer.ca; or athabascahealth.ca TUTORIAL: CHANGING YOUR EMAIL (CLICK TO VIEW)
  6. Enter the Authorization Code and click ADD SUBSCRIPTION. A verification PIN should then be emailed to you (the PIN will expire after 30 minutes.
  7. Open the email with your PIN. Enter it into your account and click VERIFY. Then click FINISH.
  8. Open the Lexicomp app on your device.
  9. Tap the menu icon in the top right corner, then select UPDATE. Select the content you wish to update and then tap the UPDATE button in the bottom right corner.

To install the Lexicomp app:

  1. Go to Lexicomp (must be using this link on the library website).
  2. Scroll down to the blue MOBILE ACCESS CODES icon and select it.
  3. Select your platform and then select 'New (app is not installed)'. 
  4. The AUTHORIZATION CODE appears in red. You need this.
  5. Go to http://www.lexi.com/account/ and create an account (note: it's not possible to create an account in the app). You must use one of the following email addresses: @saskhealthauthority.ca; @usask.ca; @mail.usask.ca; saskcancer.ca; or athabascahealth.ca
  6. Enter the Authorization Code and click ADD SUBSCRIPTION. A verification PIN should then be emailed to you (the PIN will expire after 30 minutes.
  7. Open the email with your PIN. Enter it into your account and click VERIFY. Then click FINISH.
  8. Download the app to your device from the App Store or Play Store
  9. Open the app, log in with the user name and password you just created and select ACCEPT. If prompted, select 'SD Card' for database storage. If you receive an 'Account Synced' message, select OK.
  10. Select the content you wish to download and tap the UPDATE button.

Note: You will need to renew your access annually before April 1st by entering a new authorization code to your Lexicomp account. Please see the RENEWING THE APP instructions.
